Position Overview:
The Director of Security Operations will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of security operations within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in security management, risk assessment, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will lead a team of security professionals, develop and implement security protocols, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing security operations team.
Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for team members.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive security operations strategy aligned with the company's goals.
Identify and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities across all operations.
Collaborate with senior management to integrate security considerations into business planning.
Policy Development:
Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe environment.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to security operations.
Regularly review and update policies to adapt to emerging threats and industry best practices.
Incident Management:
Oversee the response to security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare detailed reports on incidents and present findings to senior management.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services to enhance security measures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related issues within the organization.
Communicate security policies and procedures to all employees and stakeholders.
Budget Management:
Develop and manage the security operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for resource optimization and efficiency improvements.
Technology Integration:
Evaluate and implement advanced security technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in risk assessment, incident management, and security policy development.
Strong knowledge of security technologies and systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems, etc.).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) are highly desirable.
